Meet Your Psychologists
Karyn L. Gust-Brey, Ph.D. has been a licensed psychologist since 2000. She worked in the Wisconsin Department of Corrections (DOC) Division of Juvenile Corrections (DJC) at the former Ethan Allen School (EAS) for 13 years as a psychology intern, psychological associate, and licensed psychologist. She has worked for the Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) at Mendota Mental Health Institute (MMHI) since 2013, where she was a unit psychologist; a psychology supervisor in the completion of inpatient competency evaluations, competency restoration treatment, and psychological evaluations in an adult forensic program; and now the director of the psychology department in charge of evaluations and training, including the director for the psychology internship/postdoctoral fellowship. She has maintained a private practice specializing in forensic evaluations since 2014. She has taught graduate assessment courses and has supervised practicum students, externs, predoctoral interns, and postdoctoral fellows in treatment and assessment. She has been providing outpatient psychological evaluation services to the greater Milwaukee area since 2009. She has experience in expert witness testimony and providing various trainings regarding youth with involvement in the juvenile justice system. She was on the board of directors and the continuing education chair for the Wisconsin Psychological Association 2020-2024. She is currently the secretary for the Wisconsin Psychology Foundation. Lyssi Brady, PsyD, has been a licensed psychologist since 2025. She obtained her doctoral degree in clinical psychology, with a forensic emphasis, from Pacific University. During her clinical training, she provided a variety of forensic assessments and therapy to justice-involved individuals across the lifespan in various settings, including private practice, secure juvenile residential facility, and community mental health settings. She completed her doctoral internship with the Federal Bureau of Prisons, where she provided sex offender treatment, residential drug abuse treatment, and mental health services for the general inmate population, and conducted suicide risk assessments, psychodiagnostic assessments, and psychosexual evaluations. She then completed a formal postdoctoral fellowship with Mendota Mental Health Institute and Sand Ridge Secure Treatment Center, where she provided inpatient sex offender treatment, competency restoration, and individual therapy, and completed inpatient competency evaluations, psychosexual evaluations, and risk assessments.
